Newly-crowned Miss Universe Lara Dutta says the coveted beauty
pageant that
she won is about ''Intelligence, hardwork and responsibility''
and ''not all about
silicone and plastic.'' ''I am not just a beautiful woman, i
am so
much more,'' a petite Dutta said during an exclusive interview
with ''zeenext.com'', in which she spoke about her plans for
the future and work with the United Nations.
''I'm not the most beautiful woman. surely there are people
more beautiful than me, but you have to be so much more than
that'' she said, adding, ''There is so much responsibility in
wearing the crown.'' ''you need to be intelligent enough to
handle it -- you need to be responsible and hardworking '' she
said while talking about representing India as a goodwill
ambassador.
''I worked hard to bring the tiara back to India in this new
millennium.'' Lara says
she is representing India in the most perfect way that she can,
and will work on a
programme with the united nations this july to push for compulsory
primary
education for the girl child in India. ''that will be the first
priority, and in India we
can definitely do it with the help,'' she said. admitting that
it's hard to be away
form the family, Lara told the website ''tell them, i miss them,
please !.''
